State Abortions Spark Pro-Life Surge

The many states that have passed laws that allow for unconscionably late abortions are now reaping what they sow. A recent poll shows that people are siding with the pro-life movement at record rates.

A poll conducted by Marist and in conjunction with the world’s largest Catholice service organization, the Knights of Columbus has found some surprising results.

The poll found that Americans are just as likely to be pro-life as pro-choice, showing both at 47%. This is a huge difference from the poll conducted just last month that showed 55% as pro-choice and only 38% as pro-life.

The Knights of Columbus released the following findings:

“Among Democrats, the gap between pro-life and pro-choice identifiers was cut in half from 55 percent to 27 percent. The number of Democrats now identifying as pro-life is 34 percent, up from 20 percent last month, while the number identifying as pro-choice fell from 75 percent to 61 percent. Younger Americans also moved dramatically, now dividing 47 percent pro-life to 48 percent pro-choice. One month ago, the gap was almost 40 percentage points with only 28 percent identifying as pro-life and 65 percent identifying as pro-choice.”

The Marist Poll director, Barbara Carvalho, also had some insight. She shared with the Knight of Columbus that, “The recent legal changes to late-term abortion and the debate which followed have not gone unnoticed by the general public,” and “in just one month, there has been a significant increase in the proportion of Americans who see themselves as pro-life and an equally notable decline in those who describe themselves as pro-choice.”

It seems that the controversial legislation that the government has allowed to pass has lit a fire in many Americans who believe in defending ALL life. Where the government fails it is left to we the people to stand firm.
